Naming Your Files
It is good practice to use appropriate file names and program extensions when saving your files. This greatly reduces problems during file upload as well as the prepress process.
File Name:

A file name is simply the name of your document, image or graphic. Keep the name short, but descriptive. Use upper and lower case letters, numbers and underscores.
File Extension:

File extentions describe the file type. File extensions are automatically added to your file when you save them from native programs such as InDesign, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.
Examples:

This is a GOOD example of how to name your files: RedMustang_1.tif
We used upper and lowercase letters, one underscore, a number and the appropriate extension. Other appropriate names for this file would be: redmustang.tif or redmustang1.tif
This is a BAD example of how to name your files: Red mustang#1.tif
The "space" and "#" symbol can lead to problems during file upload as well as the prepress process.
